What types of tooth extraction services are offered at Alton Dental in Burlington?
There are two types of tooth extractions and we offer both. They are simple and complex extractions. Simple extractions are for teeth already fully grown while complex extractions are for wisdom or impacted teeth.
Why might I need a tooth extraction at Alton Dental?
There are many reasons an extraction is necessary but the root reason is the tooth can’t be saved. It could be decayed or be damaged. It could be wisdom teeth crowding out others. Extractions aren’t our first choice but sometimes are the necessary choice.
What is involved in wisdom tooth extraction at Alton Dental?
Wisdom tooth extraction happens primarily because of overcrowding but they can also be impacted or not growing properly. Wisdom teeth may grow sideways or backwards into the jaw. Those can be painful and need to be removed.
How does Alton Dental minimize discomfort during extractions?
We use local anesthetics to numb areas where dentists work and there are also sedation options available for those who have anxiety or trouble sitting still.
